PRISM Webinars: Reflecting the Best in Micropile Practice

ISM has launched PRISM Webinars: Reflecting the Best in Micropile Practice, a new series designed to bring the latest research, innovative approaches and practical solutions directly to the micropile community.

Inaugural Webinar — Webinar #1

Making Connections: New Approaches to Bonded Micropile-to-Structure Connections

Thursday, September 24, 2026, 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. ET

The series kicked off with Making Connections, featuring Jesús Gómez, Ph.D., P.E., BC.GE, and Helen Robinson, P.E., PMP, BC.GE, of GEI Consultants. They presented the new DFI research report, Design Considerations for Bonded Micropile-to-Structure Connections, endorsed by the joint DFI-ADSC Micropile Committee.

The presentation introduces a practical design and verification method for bonded micropile-to-existing concrete footing connections. Using straightforward design steps, the method helps engineers assess the available capacity of a proposed connection constructed by directly bonding the micropile to an existing footing.

Whether you design, evaluate or construct micropile foundations, this webinar offers a valuable look at an emerging approach for addressing real-world connection challenges.
