Pablo Ruiz-Terán, Head of Geotechnical Department for Iberia, UK and Australia in Ferrovial Construction
Pablo Ruiz-Terán holds a PhD and is a Civil Engineer from the University of Cantabria, a Master’s in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering from the Center for Studies and Experimentation of Public Works (CEDEX), a Master’s in Tunnels and Underground Works from the Spanish Association of Tunnels and Underground Works (AETOS), and an Executive MBA in Business Management and Marketing from the Higher School of Commercial Management and Marketing (ESIC).
He specializes in the design and execution of special foundations and ground improvement techniques: in-situ piles, prefabricated piles, micropiles, retaining walls, anchors, injections, jet grouting, gravel columns, vibroflotation, dynamic compaction, rigid inclusions, soil-mixing, etc.
He began his professional career over 20 years ago at Rodio Cimentaciones Especiales (Soletanche-Bachy group).
For more than 10 years, he has been working at Ferrovial Construcción, the construction division of FERROVIAL, a leading global infrastructure group. He currently holds the position of Head of Geotechnics for Iberia, Latam, and other markets.
He is a Professor in the Master of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering at CEDEX (Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility of the Government of Spain).
He is the author of numerous articles and presentations at both national and international conferences.
Pablo Ruiz-Terán es Doctor e Ingeniero de Caminos, Canales y Puertos por la Universidad de Cantabria, Máster en Mecánica de Suelos e Ingeniería de Cimentaciones por el Centro de Estudios y Experimentación de Obras Públicas (CEDEX), Máster en Túneles y Obras Subterráneas por la Asociación Española de Túneles y Obras Subterráneas (AETOS) y MBA Executive en Dirección Empresarial y Marketing por la Escuela Superior de Gestión Comercial y Marketing (ESIC).
Es especialista en diseño y ejecución de cimentaciones especiales y técnicas de mejora del terreno: pilotes in situ, pilotes prefabricados, micropilotes, pantallas, anclajes, inyecciones, jet grouting, columnas de grava, vibroflotación, compactación dinámica, inclusiones rígidas, soil-mixing, etc.
Inició su carrera profesional hace más de 20 años en Rodio Cimentaciones Especiales (grupo Soletanche-Bachy).
Desde hace más de 10 años desarrolla su actividad en Ferrovial Construcción, división de construcción de FERROVIAL, uno de los principales grupos mundiales de infraestructuras. Actualmente ostenta el cargo de Jefe de Geotecnia de Iberia, Latam y otros mercados.
Es Profesor de Máster en Mecánica del Suelo e Ingeniería Geotécnica del CEDEX (Ministerio de Transportes y Movilidad Sostenible del Gobierno de España).
Es autor de numerosos artículos y ponencias tanto en congresos nacionales como internacionales.
